float down OAK CREEK

What? THIS is Arizona? Enjoy a different world, sitting down on a paddleboard and navigating the beautiful, (mostly) calm waters of Oak Creek.

Put-In: Cornville (25 minutes southwest of Sedona)

or inner tube

Meet us in Cornville (25 minutes/miles from Sedona) at our “put-IN” location. Use one of our blow-up paddleboards or an inner-tube.

We’ll navigate waters as shallow as 5-6 inches up to 4 feet in depth. Feel free to stand-up, if your an expert. Otherwise, we usually enjoy sitting down on our paddle boards. There’s gentle, barely-moving sections which allow us to be completely present with nature and the calm stillness. Once you’re ready for some action, we’ll navigate some slightly technical movements of water.

Keep an eye out for animals and birds such as: deer, cows, black hawk, blue heron, brown trout, bobcat, fox, coyote, and beaver.

Our complete trip will end up at The Hummingbird House, in Cornville, about 1.5 hours away. At our “put-OUT”, you’ll need to be able to climb the 108 stone steps, if you want a ride back to your car at our “put-IN”.

Ages 10 to 80ish

Due to tree, branch, and rock obstacles, there is a chance for injury.

You must be able to take care of your own boat (tube, board).

Note: We’ve been on Oak Creek when water flow was in the 30’s (ft/min.). We needed get off our boards and walk them over the shallow portions, about 6-7 times. Not a big deal. But, when the water gets into the 20’s (ft/min.), it’s not so fun.
